Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear. Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

So I'll say it: I loved this book. I lapped it up. I am such a girl :) Alright, alright, I know it wasn't earth-shattering fiction or anything, but it had all the formulaic bits and bobs we girls like to have for an ideal literary escape.

You know, the thing we all dreamed of at some point in our teenage lives. That we'd be *that* girl. The ordinary one. But the one who's anything but ordinary on the inside. And all it takes the most popular guy in school to figure that out ... to find that special something he couldn't find with any other girl in school before now. This book has that, in spades. But, it also has Vampires. Sounds like a winning formula to me :) Can't wait to get my hands on the next one! (and the next and the next, much like Harry Potter!) Perhaps now, I'll even watch the movie ...

I HIGHLY recommend the movie. I kind of saw it by accident, but was so riveted that it compelled to read the booms immediately!

EEK! SO glad you liked it. I agree with you - it's not a "smart" book but it sure is a fun way to pass the time. :)

I liked all the books very much up until the third. I was a bit meh about the fourth one but it wasn't bad.

Lots of people also hated the movie. I loved it. I don't think they could have cast a better actor for Edward.

Glad you loved it - I am a huge fan of the twiligth series and even loved the movie (which surprised me).

The third book, Eclipse, and twilight are my favourite in the series.

I had never heard about twilight then my boyfriend picked the film because it looked action packed lol
It's really not, but it was everything I wanted in a movie, I loved it so much I watched it way too many times and bought ALL the books. and it has to be said, the movie was so well done but it has nothing on the books.
I Loved the story so much I even started my own site. http://www.twilightseries.co.za
It's just a borderline obsession, or at least that's what I tell myself ;)

@sir77 - I think the movie will definitely be on the cards shortly ;)

@jane - hee hee, it's definitely great escapism :)

@brazen - will definitely be on the look out to read the rest of the series :)

@arkwife - then I definitely think you should read the books ;)

@danielle - like your site, but didn't read too much for fear of it giving away the rest of the plot ;) I do like the fact that it sounds like there's going to be a 5th tho!

yay for twilight fans :) i loved the whole series, even though, like sleepyjane, i was a bit "meh about book 4"

I was suprised at how much i liked the movie - even though i'm not mad about any of the cast - not how i pictured any of them at all!!

for those who have read all the books, i listen to a great podacst called imprint (http://twilightsource.com/imprint.php)
