So Much of Awesomeness

Ah, I am in a spectacular mood this morning :) Which is in stark contrast to the mood I've been in the rest of the week, which was mostly completely frustrated with some of the people I work with. I get like that when they don't schedule me properly and I have to go hunt down work to keep myself busy and then you just know you get assigned all those annoying tasks everyone else was avoiding :P

But this morning is different, this morning all is right with the world. Blackberry Internet Services are working again, I had a lovely night out last night and woke up next to my darling boyf this morning and I am all dressed up and wearing a suit today.

So, what have I really been up to. Well last Thursday I went to watch The Trucker play Action Cricket. Also because I knew TheBrad would be there, his team was playing a warm-up game against the Indian Men's team. See, all the International teams are out for the Action Cricket World Cup. Last Thursday I really enjoyed watching the Welsh women against our Northern Gauteng ladies. So on Tuesday evening The Trucker & I decided to go watch some of the actual World Cup games in Fourways (they call it Fourways, but it's more like Northgate). We watched our u19 girls get annihilated by the Aussie girls. And then we watched the first innings of our Men's team against New Zealand. It was great fun, and a kinda offbeat thing to spend the evening watching :)

And then last night I had booked The Trucker & I seats at a Blanc de Noir Culinary Experience hosted by Maximillien. I have no idea how I ended up on Legacy Hotels' mailing list but there are some cool events :) Anyway, back to last night's dinner. The invite promised a 5 course menu of black and white beverages perfectly paired with black and white food and it was all to be secretly located in Leonardo's Blanc de Noir chamber. Oh, and all the guests had to wear black and white too. I thought it sounded like a fun night out :)

And it was. We were a little confused as to where it was exactly, but once we found it, we were greeted with an arrival cocktail at a gorgeous fairy-light-lit poolside deck area, before being ushered to the room. There were only 4 tables and I really quite enjoyed the food. The wines were also amazing. I found a white wine I like :) Jean Daneel Signature Chenin Blanc. My favourite dish of the evening was Sea Scallops and Black Pearls with new potato veloute and infused with cumin and lime zest. It's amazing to see how they can make food black & white ...

Apparently they'll be hosting more of these evenings and I'd recommend trying one :)

Sadly because the place was very low lit, with candles on the tables, my poor blackberry camera was not up to scratch :( I did try get one of the table when we first arrived but gave up after that ...

Sounds divine! The Maximillien, not the cricket ;-)
